2018, chapter 3: ‘Stay In The Dark’ by The Band Perry (nr. 115)

Taylor is on a revenge missionShe has developed a relationship with a kind man. His name is Perry,  he is a mute insomniac and he is completely in love with her.

He cherishes her good moments when they are lovers and close, so he convinces her to stay at his place.

When she moves on to continue her revenge mission, he goes with her. He wonders where but doesn’t actually care. He just wants to stay in the dark, holding her close behind closed curtains. It doesn’t matter that he is leaving everything and everyone behind.

He knows rationally that this is crazy, but his heart is in charge – and evidently hates him.

2018, chapter 2: ‘Bitch’ by Meredith Brooks (Nr. 114)

Taylor is following her ex, the father of her child. She is an outcast, living outside society, unseen by most.

The exception being this one kind man. One man who takes pity and decides to help her back on her feet. She isn’t particularly nice to him. But he doesn’t care. He keeps coming back.

One day, he catches her in a weak moment, crying about the loss of her old life, her ex-boyfriend who betrayed her, and the child she no longer sees.

He sees this as a sign that underneath this hateful, angry person there is a sweet and kind woman.

She assures him that there isn’t. She’s a confusing mess of emotions, good and bad. She’s a bitch and a lover, a child and a mother, a sinner and a saint. He’ll have to accept that.

It seems he does because he keeps coming back. She begins to accept him but warns him that hanging out with her means he’ll have to be a stronger man. She changes from day-to-day.

He keeps coming back. She actually starts liking him and starts being nice to him once in a while, sometimes his hell, sometimes his dream.

He still tries to save her, to get her back to society. She tells him he can’t. She does however like having him around, helping her out.

They become occasional lovers. She starts helping him in return. She tells him her whole story.

2018, chapter 1: ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ by Gotye feat. Kimbra (nr. 113)

A woman is stalking in the shadows. A woman named Taylor. This is a new Taylor born from things done to the old Taylor. She still sometimes thinks back to what happened.

They had a baby. It had changed things. The relationship had always had issues – which relationship doesn’t? She was sometimes a little crazy and overreacted. But he would let her know when it happened. And he told her that he was so happy with her, he could die.

But along with committing to the baby, she committed to keeping their relationship alive. And she started noticing that he often refused to listen and blamed her for being crazy even when she wasn’t. She became more and more aware of this and confronted him about it. He saw it as her changing and didn’t like it. He missed the docile way she used to be. He ended up promising to get over it, though.

He didn’t. Instead, Taylor felt more and more lonely in his company and was used to the sadness when Will finally left her.

But that wasn’t it. She was fine and agreed that they could still be friends and raise their child together.

No, what put her over the edge was when that he had lied about wanting to be friends. He cut her off completely. Worse still, he had others her throw out and made it impossible for her to contact him.

He made her an outcast – a stranger. And now she wants revenge. He is no longer the Will she knew and loved.

I could have added a lot more links to this but chose not to. This is a beginning just as much as a continuation and thus needs to be able to stand alone and be an origin for further adventures.

Should you want to know more about her background, follow the tags around to figure out what happened before (I recommend Taylor and Will and Taylor).

107: ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ by Taylor Swift

Taylor has been hurt. Others have set her up to look like a villain. Said the gun was hers. Fine, they get what they ask for.

She trusted them with her home, and they locked her out and threw a feast. They even laughed as they lied.

She had been nice. But she soon got harder and smarter. Now the nice Taylor is dead. A new Taylor rises from her grave.  And they’ll just have to wait for her revenge. She has them on a list, underlined in red.

She is now an outcast. But that just makes it easier for her to stalk them. She will be the actress starring in their bad dreams.

105: ‘Live Forever’ by The Band Perry

Will and Taylor are having a baby. This makes Taylor reflect one night.

She has dodged commitment for years, created warlike fights, so she wouldn’t get hurt and fought stability off as if she was a ship unwilling to reach shore.

Now she is ready for commitment. Will will be her only one. This time she wants it all, live forever with him, really let herself fall.

Her love for Will is like a storm inside, an electrified force, a thunder in her heart.

She also thinks about the uncertainty of this prospect. Forever is a long time. This could be a dream, but there are also so many ways, this could end.

But it’s fine. If they stay young and crazy, everything will be fine.

She tells this to Will the following evening.

103: ‘ Black Or White’ by Michael Jackson

Will is taking Taylor out celebrating the fact that Taylor has become pregnant (he calls it a Saturday bang), something Will sees as a miracle.

Will is black and Taylor is white, and someone comments on that in disbelief. The stranger’s disbelief can’t bring Will down today though. Will declares that they are “one and the same” and that he believes in equality. As long as people are creating a better world for his unborn child, it doesn’t matter if they’re black or white.

His statements about race get a journalist interested. So he does an interview for the Saturday Sun where he talks about equality.

Will is tired of racism. Of all the issues, that divide creates. Of being judged for his colour. And he refuses to think about it and isn’t scared of anyone that would hurt him for it. He knows everyone has a tough time getting by, regardless of colour. And he’ll be their brother no matter if they’re black or white.

What does make him angry is people claiming to agree with him, while clearly judging him by his race.

95: ‘That’s What I Like’ by Bruno Mars

Will has come into money. Lots of money. And now he wants to spend it on Taylor, his girlfriend. Anything she wants. And if she doesn’t know what to ask for, he has suggestions:

Coming to his recently acquired condo in Manhattan
Or renting a beach house in Miami
lobster tail for dinner
Or his new assistant, Julio, can get her scampi
money
a ride in his new Cadillac
Gold jewelry
strawberry champagne
Silk sheets
white diamonds
trips to Puerto Rico
shopping sprees in Paris

Whatever she wants, it’s hers. And he’ll enjoy giving it to her. He likes to see her smile and promises she will never have a reason not to anymore.
