2018, chapter 8: ‘How You Remind Me’ by Nickelback (nr. 120)

Perry knows how Taylor responded to Wills offer. She comes back grinning about her actions, even as she apologises to Perry.

Perry doesn’t see the humour. He wanted this story to be different. A voice starts screaming in his head: “Are we having fun yet?”. He is suddenly reminded of, what he has gotten himself into. What it has made him. What he has sought at the bottom of every bottle to forget.

He didn’t succeed in being the wise man and removing her darkness. And following her around, stealing food to survive, never felt good. Falling in love with Taylor was a mistake. Following his heart was a mistake. He was blinded by love and saw that before. But now he feels it too.

And she knew how much his love for her had made him accept. That’s why she’s apologising now, even though it seems to kill her to do so.

2018, chapter 7: ‘Treat You Better’ by Shawn Mendes (nr. 119)

There are two sides to every story. So far Taylor’s has been told. This is Will, her ex’, side.

He had become more distant and didn’t listen much anymore. He can’t run from that. And her overreactions became more severe as a result. So he promised to be easier on her IF she tried to control it. She didn’t and their relationship suffered for it.

But he had good reason to be distant. He was working on a way to control time. A way to talk to his deceased mother again. And thus, he failed to uphold his part of the deal as well.

In the end, the relationship suffered for the distance between them, and he took the difficult decision to leave her.

Problem was, he knew what kind of ex she was. He has seen it himself and heard stories. He couldn’t let their child experience that. So he lied and told her that they would still be friends. Then he made sure she would never get near him or their child again.

Of course, that made it worse. She became consumed with revenge and followed him around, stalking him from the shadows. Always letting him know that she was there and that he’d better look out.

At this point, however, he finds comfort in that. He still loves her and having her close by makes him feel better. He has also seen her crying. That makes him hopeful that she still has sweetness in her.

Recently she’s with another man though. They seem romantically linked. Will doesn’t like it. He decides that this might be the time to talk to Taylor again. And he is far enough with his work that he could focus on her again. He is now able to stop time at least.

So he goes to talk with her. She tells him that she wants to be with Perry. Will doesn’t believe her and offers that she can come back and be with him. He knows he can treat her better than Perry can. He promises to not let her down again. She just needs to take his hand, and she’ll get back the life she has been missing.

Also, I literally fell asleep in front of my computer just as I was about to publish this. I’m sorry.

2018, chapter 6: ‘All Of Me’ by John Legend (nr. 118)

Perry is hopelessly in love with Taylor, a woman on a mission to punish her ex. He has chosen to follow her on this mission.

Taylor changes her mood a lot and is sometimes drawing him close and sometimes pushing him away.

He is drowning in the relationship, dizzy with love and trying to understand her. She’s crazy, alright, but he loves every curve, edge, mood and imperfection. He is happy to follow her and very aware that this makes him out of his mind as well.

But it’s not her fault that she’s like this. The world has beaten her down in regards to love, and this is the result.

And she loves him back. They both give their all, risking everything, no matter what they get into.

2018, chapter 5: ‘Don’t Forget To Remember Me’ by Carrie Underwood (nr. 117)

This is a flashback to when Taylor was an innocent 18-old, moving out from her parents’ house. She grew up in a religious home celebrating The Lord by praying and reading the Bible. Taylor loved her parents, but by now she needed to get out and be on her own. Still, the departure was teary for both mother and daughter.

Her mum kept on talking in an attempt to put off their goodbye. She took her hands and said: “Baby, don’t forget; Before you hit the highway, you better stop for gas. There’s a 50 in the ashtray, in case you run short on cash. Here’s a map and here’s a Bible, if you ever lose your way. Just one more thing before you leave; Don’t forget to remember me.”

Taylor moved into a downtown apartment. It was lonely, there were bills on the counter and she missed home.

She called her mother every Sunday. She always told her, she was alright, even when she wasn’t. She ended one call by saying: “Hey momma, don’t forget to tell my baby sister that I’ll see her in the fall. And tell Memaw that I miss her… Yeah, I should give her a call. And make sure you tell Daddy that I’m still his little girl… Yeah, I still feel like I’m where I’m supposed to be. Don’t forget to remember me.”

One night she felt alone by herself. So she did something she hadn’t done in a while; she leaned by the bed and prayed to The Lord: “Lord, I feel so small sometimes in this big ol’ place… Yeah, I know there are more important things, but don’t forget to remember me.”

Also, I’m very sorry for the delay. My life has been a bit crazy the last few days.

2018, chapter 2: ‘Bitch’ by Meredith Brooks (Nr. 114)

Taylor is following her ex, the father of her child. She is an outcast, living outside society, unseen by most.

The exception being this one kind man. One man who takes pity and decides to help her back on her feet. She isn’t particularly nice to him. But he doesn’t care. He keeps coming back.

One day, he catches her in a weak moment, crying about the loss of her old life, her ex-boyfriend who betrayed her, and the child she no longer sees.

He sees this as a sign that underneath this hateful, angry person there is a sweet and kind woman.

She assures him that there isn’t. She’s a confusing mess of emotions, good and bad. She’s a bitch and a lover, a child and a mother, a sinner and a saint. He’ll have to accept that.

It seems he does because he keeps coming back. She begins to accept him but warns him that hanging out with her means he’ll have to be a stronger man. She changes from day-to-day.

He keeps coming back. She actually starts liking him and starts being nice to him once in a while, sometimes his hell, sometimes his dream.

He still tries to save her, to get her back to society. She tells him he can’t. She does however like having him around, helping her out.

They become occasional lovers. She starts helping him in return. She tells him her whole story.

2018, chapter 1: ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ by Gotye feat. Kimbra (nr. 113)

A woman is stalking in the shadows. A woman named Taylor. This is a new Taylor born from things done to the old Taylor. She still sometimes thinks back to what happened.

They had a baby. It had changed things. The relationship had always had issues – which relationship doesn’t? She was sometimes a little crazy and overreacted. But he would let her know when it happened. And he told her that he was so happy with her, he could die.

But along with committing to the baby, she committed to keeping their relationship alive. And she started noticing that he often refused to listen and blamed her for being crazy even when she wasn’t. She became more and more aware of this and confronted him about it. He saw it as her changing and didn’t like it. He missed the docile way she used to be. He ended up promising to get over it, though.

He didn’t. Instead, Taylor felt more and more lonely in his company and was used to the sadness when Will finally left her.

But that wasn’t it. She was fine and agreed that they could still be friends and raise their child together.

No, what put her over the edge was when that he had lied about wanting to be friends. He cut her off completely. Worse still, he had others her throw out and made it impossible for her to contact him.

He made her an outcast – a stranger. And now she wants revenge. He is no longer the Will she knew and loved.

I could have added a lot more links to this but chose not to. This is a beginning just as much as a continuation and thus needs to be able to stand alone and be an origin for further adventures.

Should you want to know more about her background, follow the tags around to figure out what happened before (I recommend Taylor and Will and Taylor).

Lyrics

Another year has gone by, Another story over, a new one can begin.

To newcomers: I start out every year with a fresh start. A new story with a new focus. It’s in the same universe and has connections to the previous ones, but it’s easier to understand because the back story is limited to the bare necessities. Will I reuse the same characters? Will it be completely new? We’ll see.

Merry Christmas, happy new year and any other holiday taking place in the immediate future or recent past.
