110: ‘Slut Like You’ by P!nk

Fergie has two separate lives.

In one, she’s a pretty pop star. This is how she makes a living. Her image here is a facade.

In another, she goes partying. This is her break. Here she can be crazy and completely herself.

She has managed to keep these lives separate since her partying would hurt her pop star image. Until one night.

She is at this point very drunk. She meets a guy, who recognises her as a pop star. He, however, seems to be looking for the same thing she is; a one-night-stand. She is so relieved she tells him the whole truth.

She goes out, now primarily with other girls also looking for men to take home. They don’t really care all that much about them. But she doesn’t go home with just anyone. And she makes it clear to the guy (what was his name again? Jack? Sam?) that she’s the one in control. She’s not the fool being convinced by him, he is. She’s even the one buying him shots.

He doesn’t seem convinced though and starts to leave. She tries to convince him to stay by calling him a caveman.

104: ‘Here’s To Never Growing Up’ by Avril Lavigne

Will is having a baby. He tells Fergie, his friend. She’s happy for him, of course, but realises that this means that he will eventually stop going out partying with her. This throws her into a panic. These nights out have been the first time, she can be herself ever. She NEEDS them to continue!

So she tries to convince him to keep doing this forever by inviting all of their friends for the next night out. She reminds him how much fun they are having. For instance by singing Radiohead at the top of their lungs to a boom box, falling in love with new people, drinking whatever will get them drunk, running down the street yelling “Kiss my ass”, dancing on every bar…

She raises her cup, declaring “here’s to never growing up”, keeps saying, they’re never going to change and tries to get him to say that he’ll stay forever young too (with increasingly more desperation).

102: ‘Thrift Shop’ by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft. Wanz

Will and Fergie both have more money than they need and spend it on going out to bars and clubsThey both have expensive lifestyles.

They come regularly to the same club. A guy named Macklemore also comes there regularly. And he is not impressed by their money. He buys everything from a thrift shop, in varying degrees of quality. But he still walks into the club confidently, wearing all pink, except for his gator shoes and a slightly smelly leopard mink, and walks up next to Fergie. He’s proud of his frugality. He dresses granddad style and looks incredible doing it.

Fergie laughs at and mocks him.

It is seductive, and she enjoys it a lot. It makes her feel like a dangerous bad girl and gives their love life new flavour. However, she doesn’t approach it like Will and Fergie do, letting go of all control. She is testing her limits but is always focused and aware of where they are.

86: ‘Don’t Let Me Get Me’ by P!nk

Fergie  enjoyed going to bars way before Will seduced her into his way of partying because it was a break from her mess of a life. Never the best at anything, a teacher’s pet only in the way that she dated them, and her parents wasted no time telling her how she was wasting hers by doing everything wrong.

She let it get to her. She couldn’t stand herself and wasted even more time insulting herself in the mirror.

She did enjoy singing, so she decided to find happiness in that. But She was soon told to change everything about herself to become a pop star. So she did, but it wasn’t enough. She was just compared to other, better pop stars – and that based on being all pretty, which she didn’t want to be.

So there she was, hating her dream job. She needed a break, so she started going out to bars on her own. Here she might not be herself, but she could pretend to be more successful and have complete control of the situation.

But then Will came along. Going out with him was different. She was completely out of control, but very much herself – and loving it.

80: ‘This Is What Rock N Roll Looks Like’ by Porcelain Black feat. Lil Wayne

Will’s way of partying is tempting. Fergie falls in love with it instantly. Not in him, though, so they don’t start dating. But they go out together.

While new to her, the partying falls fairly natural to her. Sometimes she’s even the driving force of the bad decisions. Will starts ironically calling her Porcelain.

They drink their troubles away, and sometimes cause them, and feel like the king and queen of the night.

While Will didn’t get with Fergie, he’s not lacking for attention. He sleeps with a woman one night. No clue what her name is, but at least he remembers the night for once.

76: ‘Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time’ by Panic! At The Disco

Fergie is used to being hit on when she goes to a bar – but not quite like this.
Will comes up to her, already quite drunk, and decides that his best move it to tell her that he woke up only a few hours earlier in his underwear, seemingly having drunk every bit of liquor in wherever he woke up, not having the faintest idea how he got there, declaring that it was the best feeling ever – and then introduces himself.

If nothing else, it gets her attention and she listens to him as he goes on to tell her, how he actually went out carrying a cane and wearing a party hat – both things he has no idea where are now. He felt like the king of the world and nothing could go wrong. He went out with his fellow students – he’s a pre-med, you see. They went out, had some very well designed drugs a large party and from there – well it’s a bit of a blur.

He tells her, how he usually memories usually came back in flashes – and he’s actually starting to remember one bit from last night. Roaming the city in a shopping cart – wherever they got that from – while smoking cigarettes attempting to set off a fire alarm – which he also don’t know where the hell they got from.

Fergie laughs at this story and comments that “”If you go on you might pass out in a drain pipe.”

He arches an eyebrow at her and answers: “don’t threaten me with a good time.”

And then once again, it all goes black.

He wakes up… somewhere. Once again without any clothes on. But not alone this time. Fergie is with him, smiling. He looks around for clothes, a bed sheet, anything to cover him up – and also any indication that the smile could mean that anything happened between them.

It all feels unreal, his eyes are playing tricks on him – and is he soaking wet?

Fergie has a better idea of the night’s events. She tells him, that they somehow ended up in his neighbour’s pool (good, then he’s not too far away from home this time), they had sped from bar to bar and he had proposed to her… repeatedly (judging by her laughter at this, it’s unlikely anything happened between them at all).

At some point, she had tried telling him to cut back on the alcohol… to which he replied: “I’m not as think as you drunk I am”, which amused her quite a bit.

So yeah, he probably had enough.

But hey, here he is here with a woman… who is laughing her ass off, but still.
