37: ‘ Call me when you’re sober’ by Evanescence

Pink has disappeared. She is gone and Brad is alone. The mental image of her, that he kept with him, while he was imprisoned, grows up in front of him and shouts blame at him: ”Don’t cry to me. If you loved me, you would be here with me. You want me? Come find me. Make up your mind!”

Make up your mind. Stop sitting around drinking and figure out what to do about this! Take the blame instead of blaming it on Them.

This Pink says, what he imagines the real Pink meant with her silence: ”Should I let you fall, lose it all, so maybe you can remember yourself.”

Remember what he did to her and all of Their victims.

”Can’t keep believing! We’re only deceiving ourselves and I’m sick of the lie!”

The lie of their happy life. What can he do to get her back?

Nothing apparently: ”You’re too late.”

She accuses him of not taking the blame, taunts his shameful secret.

”Must be exhausting to lose your own game.” she taunts.

The game he played balancing secret, Them and Pink. Managing the selfhate he has for his shameful secret.

”No wonder, you’re jaded.” she says hatefully. ”You can’t play the victim this time.”

She doesn’t believe his genuine sorrow over his loss of her, when he only calls on her, when he’s drunk: ”You never call me, when you’re sober. You only want it, ’cause it’s over.”

This makes him argue with her, claiming that she was the one, who burned down their paradise. He was out of Them! He was hers alone!

This doesn’t impress her: ”How could I have burned paradise? How could I!? You were never mine!”

He was theirs, chose Them rather than letting her in on his secret.

”Don’t lie to me. Just get your things.”

He has to untangle his life from hers. Declare her dead. He has to let Pink go.

36: ‘I Love You’ by Avril Lavigne

Grey Eyes is deeply insecure. How could hers and Pink’s relationship last, when it ended before?

So Pink tries to explain her, why she loves her.

It’s not any specific thing. Those she just likes. Like her smile, vibe or style. Her beauty. How she has handled this secrecy like a star or the way she misbehaves when drunk, in great contrast to her usual cool and collected personality, another thing, that Pink likes very much, because it fits well with Pink being so passionate and complicated.

No, the reason Pink loves Grey Eyes is just Grey Eyes being Grey Eyes, with everything that means. And even if there were years between them being together Pink will always be there for Grey Eyes. And Pink asks Grey Eyes if she feels the same and needs Pink as much as Pink needs her.

No new post… Again

I had a sudden job interview quite far away, so the day I was supposed to write the posts, I was stuck in internetless transportation. And now I’m both computerless and wouldn’t have internet even if I had the computer, so I can’t write this week’s post. They are written, just not on the computer, so within two weeks you should have three posts up. I’m very sorry.

No post this week

I do not have my computer this week and the computer, I am currently sitting at has decided that apostrophes are \ and question marks are -. I could work around apostrophes, but not question marks, so rather than tormenting myself and creating a jarring, annoying, difficult-to-read text, I will post two chapters next week. I am dedicated, but this is the limit.

35: ‘Hot’ by Avril Lavigne

In her new life, Pink has taken the name Avril.

She meets Grey Eyes, an old girlfriend, again. They fall back in love and become a couple. But due to having a new identity, Pink can’t be seen with people she knew in her old life. So they meet in secret.

Pink is happy with this arrangement and could keep it up forever. Grey Eyes turns her on and treats her well. She wants to do the same for Grey Eyes. She tells her about how she’s going to make her feel all better, just like Grey Eyes once did for her, and show her new places and new experiences. She loves Grey Eyes and asks her to kiss, hold, love and never leave Pink.

34: ‘The Lazy Song’ by Bruno Mars

Ink was a young, uneducated man, before the met Harmony. He was unmotivated and mostly just laid around.

Most of his days looked like this:

He would just lay in his bed, ignoring his phone entirely. Kick his feet up, stare at the fan.

He would be lounging on the couch, just chilling in his snuggie. He would click to MTV, so they could teach him how to dougie. There was no one around to tell him, he couldn’t.

In summary, he would spend his day in bed watching television.

Occasionally he switched it up. He would do some P90X, pick up a girl and have some really nice sex (for her as well).

He always said he might get a college degree and make his father proud.

Now he has Harmony. He can still have a lazy day. Days, where he’ll strut around in his birthday suit with unkempt hair and everything hanging loose, doing nothing at all.

33: ‘Say Something’ by A Great Big World

Brad is free. He finds Pink alive. His happiness is short, as she tells him what really happened to their home and refuses to say any more to him.

Brad begs for her to say something, anything. He’s about to give up on the life, they have fought so hard to get. He’d be with her forever and do everything for her if she would only speak to him. He feels so small because none of this is his fault. Everything happened beyond his control. He didn’t know anything about Their harassment of her. Brad and Pink have barely begun their life together and are still learning to love properly. They can’t give up on their marriage now!

It’s no good. He’ll have to swallow his pride and leave what they had behind. She’s the one, that he loves, but he has no choice but to say goodbye.
