29: ‘Funhouse’ by P!nk

After having rekindled the flame in their marriage, Pink and Brad’s house and life became a fun house. They loved each other and were happy with their life, their home and lake. They even had a dog.

Pink didn’t find out about Brad’s secret, and what he had done to keep it before they had been married for a long while and not before it was too late. Not before They were in the house, dressed as clowns in order to be disguised.

They came at different times, while Brad wasn’t there, slowly torturing Pink with information about what Brad had done, echoing voices laughing from behind locked doors.

Their campaign began working. Slowly, like a tickle turns into a rash, Pink began hating Brad. She felt haunted by the evil clowns. One day it became too much. She was all alone. She danced around, watching the photos depicting the lie, she had been living, suddenly noticing a taunting smirk on Brad’s face. This home was already a museum full of ash, so she decided to burn it down. She would rather live out on the street than continue living in this haunted memory of their happy life. She moved out her stuff with the help of her dance crew (known as Movers and Maids) and broke everything else: tore down the photos, mangled the key, tore down the drapes and broke the plates. She counted down and laughed as she dropped the match: ”9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, fun”.

She would find a new place to live, while Brad would think she died in the flames.

28: ‘Genghis Khan’ by Miike Snow

Still heartbroken and not ready to not engage in anything serious, Pink began dating other people after  Brad.

This was not Brad’s plan at all! Sure, he knew he had waived all right to decide or even ask where she went at night, but waves hit his head when he realised, she actually would have others in her bed.

And he doesn’t want her to get it on nobody else, however aware of, how possessive this line of thinking is, he is.

The scene  in his mind of her going out slipped away and he went back to work.

He tried faking being okay with her post-him activities. And fact was, that he was still in with Them and getting no closer to getting out, so he didn’t want to date her right now…

But he couldn’t allow her to be free. However selfish and obscene he would seem, he would tell her to not go out with anyone…

But on the other hand, he could tell her his secret and be free from this…

He sunk back into his chair. He couldn’t make up his mind because he was no longer sure what he wanted.

27:’ Whataya Want from Me’ by Adam Lambert

”Hey, slow it down. Whataya want from me?”

Distortion knew Brad’s secret. He threatened to make it public if he didn’t join Them. Normally Brad wouldn’t have cared. Hell, he’d give the secret away himself. But he had just started dating Pink, the love of his life.

”Yeah, I’m afraid. Whataya want from me.”

The Leader explained that she wanted him to solve problems. This was a difficult job and his secret would be out if he failed at it. But on the other hand, They could save his life.

”Yeah, it’s plain to see that baby you’re beautiful and there’s nothing wrong with you. It’s me, I’m a freak. But thanks for lovin’ me, cause you’re doing it perfectly. Just don’t give up. I’m workin’ it out. Please don’t give in. I won’t let you down.”

When he was doing poorly, The Leader would second-guess her leadership. He assured her, that it was his fault. But if it weren’t for the fact that she could save his life, he wouldn’t play along.

”It messed me up, need a second to breathe. Just keep coming around”

The work is dangerous and without Distortion to keep him safe, it might kill him sooner than his secret.

”I’m workin’ it out. Please don’t give in. I won’t let you down. It messed me up, need a second to breathe. Just keep coming around. Hey, whataya want from me.”

He couldn’t keep dating Pink trough all of this. He would work this out, then get back with her. She would have to understand even if he couldn’t explain, what was going on, and she didn’t like it.

I’ve also realised that my schedule is fuller than I thought (the quality suffered and I was regularly late Thursday), so from now on, I’ll post every Monday.

26: ‘A to the B’ by Infernal

Harmony’s new perspective on guys is a result not only of her youth but also of her first experiences outside the country song of her youth.

At first, she was once coy, using persuasion to get guys. The guys loved it. But it was hard work for her and easy for them . They merely had to show pleasure in seeing her (and they couldn’t hide that anyway, so that was not impressive…). One guy, in particular, took advantage of it. She was head over heels for him, he kept denying he an actual relationship.

She got fed up with that and decided to be demanding and expect the guys to do the work of charming her from then on.

She brings this attitude with her to work, where she manages to combine demands and acting coy to get the boss to treat her well.  She gains control over him as well as other male coworkers with words alone: ”You see, it seems to me that all us strong, independent women make men lazy.  All of a sudden, they think they don’t have to court us properly.  But boys let me tell you something: there’s nothing like a man who knows how to treat a lady.”

They will do anything for her. Cross an ocean, cross a sea…

They take notice of that and promote her to become the boss.

She’s brilliant at it and motivates them to work hard for her.

25: ‘You Lost Me’ by Christina Aguilera

Dixie’s and Distortion’s relationship wasn’t always strained. At first, Distortion kept his involvement with Them hidden. She called him Babe. Their love magical.

But then Dixie witnessed him at one of his jobs: killing a witness. He was supposed to take the fall and keep attention away from Them. This new knowledge infected and changed their relationship.

Distortion tried to fix it by introducing her to more of the operation, amongst which the female leader.

It didn’t work. His neglect of her, that she could previous look past due to him being unable to keep his hands to himself around her, was now horrible because she knew what he was doing. But she still loved him and stayed with him, hoping she might be able to get him away from it. It was painful and involved a lot of tears from both and their love suffered. And eventually, it became clear to her, that Distortion was driven by a lust for violence, a lust she couldn’t get out of him.

She was done. All was lost. Recalling the smoking gun, she could no longer look forgive him for his crimes, no longer hope, he would change. He chose lust for violence over his love for Dixie. The love was gone and he lost her. The Leader won, as tragical as it was.

And Dixie’s life lost all fun. She began fighting against Them – and lost.

In their last letter exchange as a couple, Distortion apologised to Dixie and reminded her of how sweet their relationship had been. She knew, he would regret it all. But what good was that now, when they were both shells of their former selves? It was too late. How could Dixie ever trust him again?

24: ‘The Bad Touch’ by Bloodhound Gang

I can’t do this song justice in a non-explicit post, so I’m placing it after ‘continue reading’.

Here’s a non-explicit sum up: Harmony and Ink continued meeting in the manner at which they met. They were both pleased with this arrangement.

Here’s the censored video, so that you may judge whether or not the explicit post is for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xat1GVnl8-k

Also sorry for the late post. I’ve had a busy week.

23: ‘The Only Exception’ by Paramore

Pink didn’t want to fall in love. Pink didn’t believe in love. She knew, it never lasted after observing, what happened to her parents.

She saw Distortion, her father, cry and curse at the wind when she visited him. She never told Dixie, her mother, about these visits. Judging from how Dixie talked about Distortion, Pink knew, she neither would like nor understand, why Pink would want to.

Distortion was heartbroken and knew full well that it was his fault, Dixie had left. But he tried to reassemble his heart as best he could.

Dixie swore she would never let herself forget how he treated her and how that made her feel.

So Pink learned to live alone and swore off love because getting it wasn’t worth the risk of losing it.

Brad turned out to the exception. When he asked her out, they had known each other forever and she could trust to still be there the next day. She still knew, it wouldn’t last, but she simply couldn’t let go of him.

And she was on her way to believing in love.
