73: ‘Stay’ by Sugarland

A couple lays in bed. All seems well, but small signs show that they are not. The man seems content, but the woman keeps looking from looking lovingly at her lover, absent-mindedly looking at the wall and pain filled glancing at the clock.

The problem is not the situation as it is. The problem is the fact it will end as soon as his wife calls. The woman is silently praying she won’t.

She knows that when that happens she’ll be begging him not to leave. And she’ll be left alone and crying. This has happened so many times now. She feels like she is dying.

She doesn’t want to do that again. So she wonders what she can do to make him realise that she can give him everything his wife can – and more.

So this time she begins the begging before the call: “Why don’t you stay? I’m down on my knees. I’m so tired of being lonely. Don’t I give you what you need? When she calls you to go. There is one thing you should know. We don’t have to live this way. Baby, why don’t you stay?”

He tries to go into the usual spiel about planning to leave his wife. But she is starting to doubt him and feels used. She is tired of living like this when they don’t have to.

He is deaf to her pleas. And she has had enough. She realises that if this is hurting her so much, she doesn’t have to live this way. So she lets him know that he shouldn’t come by anymore.

So terribly sorry

You might have noticed the lack of posts of late. This is partly because I have been busy with other writing projects and partly because I have had more trouble dealing with the religion theme than anticipated. I find myself considering which interpretation of a song will make people hate me less, and that is not a position I enjoy being in.

I love writing this blog, and this story is making me not love it.

So starting April I will begin a new story. This story will be part of the history (think of it as that weird sequel that everyone ignores), but the focus will change once again. I will attempt to make up for lost posts, so that’s three posts coming soon. And then I’m back on regular schedule.

I’m truly sorry.

72: ‘Irreplaceable’Beyonce

Relationships are difficult, and money cannot stop trouble from occurring.

In the relationship of Nicki and Chainz, it came in the form of cheating. Nicky sees Chainz drive around with another woman and kicks him out, making sure to take everything that legally belongs to her, including his car.  Chainz becomes angry and shouts at her that she’ll never find someone like him. Nicki laughs this off and says, she already has.
